Havre Boxing Club members are taught three things: discipline, respect and safety qualities head coach Larry Boe takes very seriously in the world of boxing. Boe said the youngsters are looking for sponsors in order to fight. So far the kids haven't had a fight yet because they are waiting for their USA Amateur Boxing cards, which carry insurance on them, and Boe wants his boxers to earn thei r fights. "They're training to get into shape. I want to get them in shape first. Then I'll teach them how to defend themselves, the proper technique and then we'll spar," Boe said. "Safety's paramount here. I'm a real stickler about it. ... I don't want any of my guys getting hurt." Boe added that if anyone is interested in sponSoring the youth boxers or if anyone is interested in joining the boxing club (kids must be at least 6-years-old) contact Boe at 808-1777.
