Mildred Mabel Teskey, 75, a longtime Wi l l iston, N.D. , resident, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at the Mercy Medical Center in Williston.
Her Mass of Christian burial was to be celebrated at 11:30 a. m. today at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Williston by Father John Paul Gardner. Interment will be in Kalispell at Conrad Memorial Cemetery on Friday at 1 p.m. All are welcome to attend. Mabel was born Jan. 22, 1932, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to Katarina and Philip John Schneidmiller. She attended elementar y school and Langevin Junior High school to the ninth grade, and Crescent Heights Collegiate Institute in Calgary. Mabel worked for the Alberta Gove rnment Te l e phone Company from 1950 through 1952. She married Edward Roy Teskey on Sept. 19, 1952, in Calgary. Mabel and Ed established their home in Havre, Mont., where Ed worked for the Great Northern Railroad. Five of their six children were born in Havre. The family moved to Williston in 1964 where Ed continued working for the railroad. In 1973 Mabel attended UND Williston Center where she received her medical clerical cert i f icate and completed various other courses. She was a volunteer for the Well Baby Clinic and Mental Health Association. Mabel also worked for ND Human Resource Center as a community home counselor until 1993. She was active in various organi zat ions and was a membe r of the Cathol i c Daughters of America, St. Joseph’s Alter Society, Ladies of the Moose, and the ND Mental Health Association where she served as Delegate Direct. Mabe l l oved camping, traveling, music, playing piano, knitting, sewing, and bowling. She al so enjoyed fami l y gatherings, where she delighted in visiting with family and friends whom she cherished. She especially treasured her five grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, Edward Teskey, on Jan. 8, 2004 and son, Edward Teskey, in l983; her parents, K a t r i n a a n d P h i l i p Schneidmi l ler of Calgary, Alberta; her brother, Victor Schneidmiller of Vernon, British Columbia, in 1999; her sisters; Esther West of Calgary in 2003; Leah Stainer of Salmon Arm, British Columbia in 1999; Edith Burns of Victoria, British Columbia in 1999; Rachel Fitzpatrick of Calgary in 1987; and Jean Friezen of Masset, British Columbia in 2007. She is survived by her sons Anthony Teskey of Williston; Jeffrey Teskey and grandson Alexander of Bakersfield, Calif.; Robert Teskey of Glasgow Mont.; James Teskey and wife, Jackie, and granddaughters, Victoria and Katrina Teskey of Williston; and one daughter: LaVonne Teskey Lucke and granddaughters, Kristen and Tamara Lucke of Whitefish; brothers, Ronald Schneidmiller of Calgary; Jack Schneidmiller and wife, Jenny, of Comax, British Columbia; and Elmer and wife, Eileen, of Calgary; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mabel will be dearly missed by her family. The Everson Funeral Home in Williston is caring for the family.
