EDWARD A. DIVISH obituary

Edward A. Divish, 85, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at Northern Montana Hospital of natural causes.

Cremation has taken place and his memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel with Father Robert D. Grosch officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Highland Cemetery. Edward was born Dec. 13, 1921, in Havre to Joseph and Mary (Kupka) Divish. He was raised on the family farm in Hingham and graduated from Hingham High School. He entered into the United States Navy in 1944 and served his country during World War II. He was honorably discharged as a fireman 2ndClass in March of 1946. He returned to Montana and married Cora Louise Smithson in Havre on Jan. 29, 1945. The couple made their home in Havre. Edward joined the Havre police force on May 1, 1952, and served the Havre community for 20 years and retired as captain of the police force in 1972. He and Louise then moved to the Flathead Valley. They returned to Havre in 2001 and resided at the Eagles Manor. Ed enjoyed the outdoors and all it had to offer. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and also enjoyed camping. One of his other joys was his dogs. He and Louise made an excellent dancing pair and enjoyed attending dances especially square dances. He was a member of the Eagles, Elks and V. F.W clubs. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Frank and Joe Divish; sister, Marcia Divish; grandson, Dale Constable; and son in-law, Dale Constable Sr. Ed is survived by his wife of 61 years, Cora Louise Divish of Havre; his children, Marcia Constable of Havre, Edward (Patsy) Divish of Havre and Robert (Margaret) Divish of Eden Prairie, Minn.; and 10 grandchildren, four greatgrandchildren and one greatgreat- grandchild. Memorial contributions in Edward’s honor may be made to the Eagles Manor, 20 W. Third St. Havre, MT 59501. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
