Merril Lundman of Havre, 64, died at his home of natural causes Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 10 a. m. Saturday at the Holland and Bonine Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gail Wheatley presiding. Military honors will be presented at the funeral home. Committal services will be conducted at the Malta Cemetery Saturday at 3:30 p. m. Lundman was born Aug. 24, 1943, to George and Gladys (Severeide) Lundman in Malta. He graduated from Malta High School in 1961. He attended Northern Montana College in Havre, then in the mid-1960s served in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Germany. After his discharge he worked and lived in Missoula, then on the family farm south of Malta. In 1972 he went to work for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway, retiring in 1992. In 1981, he married Kathy Olson of Havre. They later divorced. They had one son, Tyrell. He was active in the VFW and American Legion organizations and participated in community activities. He most recently had worked to raise interest and support in establishing a Veterans Administration Clinic in Havre. Lundman was preceded in death by his parents, George and Gladys Lundman. Survivors include his son, Tyrell, of Havre; brothers Ron (Clarice) of Malta and Marvin (Lela) of Helena; sister Sandra (Lester) Wiebe of Malta and Lexy Hauff of Billings, and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the organization of the donor’s choice. Services are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home of Havre.
