Store owner Sue Brurud and staff are busy getting ready for their lower level Blushing Brides grand opening on Saturday. Blushing Brides is an expansion of Bright Ideas Advertising and Consulting that opened last year on sunny Third Street. Joining Brurud and sales office manager Judy Teigeler is Angie Pratt as manager of the Blushing Brides. Pratt owns Angelic Creations, a cake decorating service operated in partnership with Donelle Standiford. “I’m really excited about Blushing Brides,” Pratt, a seamstress and fourth generation cake decorator said. “This is what I’ve always wanted to do.” According to Brurud, there are currently no other bridal shops on the Hi-Line and with growth of their exclusive bridal invitation line, Tru by Carlson Craft, it was just good business sense to make the expansion into bridal consulting as well. “In the past year of working with our brides, they kept saying there is nowhere to get dresses,” Brurud said. “Girls have been traveling to Billings, Conrad and Great Falls up to three times for their alterations. We’re hoping to become a shopping spot for the Hi-Line with our wedding, bridesmaid and formal dresses.” Focusing on customer service is a priority for Blushing Brides, who will offer a complete line of wedding products, from the dresses, veils, tiaras, dyable shoes and purses to invitations, napkins, wine glasses, matches and bridal gift packs. “We offer the most current lines in DaVinci, Impressions, Exite and Xtreme wedding and formal dresses,” Brurud said. “We know this is a big day for girls and we want to make it special for them.” Ten to 25 percent will be taken off every dress purchase during the grand opening with an ongoing special rebate program of up to ten percent off all purchases made for all weddings. Prom dresses sold at Blushing Brides are seen in the latest Cosmo Girl Prom Spring 2007 edition and can be ordered and shipped in as little as five days. The grand opening will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. For more information, call 265-4876.
