Sightings of murderer and son persist along the Hi-Line area

The U.S. Marshals Service says it has been getting reports that a convicted murderer and his son are in north-central Montana. Multiple sightings of Shannon Parazoo, 43, and his son, Alonzo Howard Durgin, 28, were reported last weekend around Fort Belknap, Mont., Deputy U.S. Marshal Rex Fullmer said Monday. Both men escaped from the Casper Re-Entry Center’s work-release program Feb. 9. Law enforcement officials suspect that Parazoo’s wife, Rose, left with the fugitives and took her two children, 12 and 14, with her. Parazoo was convicted in 1985 of second- degree murder. Durgin was convicted of aggravated robbery and aggravated assault in 1997. On Thursday, a Phillips County, Mont., sheriff’s deputy found Shannon Parazoo’s van in a remote area 12 miles from the Canadian border. Meanwhile, reports have come in about a gold Dodge Durango and a Maroon Oldsmobile Cutlass that have been associated with the escapees. “It appears that the two fellows are riding in the Durango,” Fullmer said. “That is what keeps coming up.” A $1,000 reward was being offered for each fugiti
