Originally from a strong bowling family in Missoula, Ken Riska has called Havre home for the last 12 years or so. Ken’s been kegling for about 34 years and has averaged a very nifty 200 or more for most of them. He’s thrown a lot of high games and series’ but a “300” game had eluded him until last Monday night. But with 11 balls in the pocket, Ken said his knees were shaking so hard all he thought about was keeping his final shot on the lane. No problem pocket strike No. 12. Ken also said what has really bothered him is that he has two brothers and a step-father, who averages 160, who have hit the 300-mark, with one brother who’s done it about 18 times. No bother now. Riska has joined the elite short-list of 300-game bowlers which is not an easy task at Hi-Line Lanes. We congratulate him on perfection and look forward to many more great games and series’ from him. This weekend is the final two days of Ron’s “292” No-Tap. More information and shift times may be obtained by calling the lanes at 265-5885. Daniel Almas had an 84 and 124; Tucker Carlson a 75 and 131; Zach Barnes a 61 and 112; and Tori Hansen a a 55, 53 and 108 for Bantam highs. The Strikers led the Strike Master by a half game going into Sunday’s final league day. The Bowling Girls were third followed by The Hot Dogs and The Broncos. Prep highs were a 99, 76, 54 and 229 by Shania Carlson, Spencer Morkrid’s 141 and 310; David Denny a 125 and 322; and Jacob Holden’s 135 and 309. The Pin Slayers were locked into first place but the next three spots were up for grabs. See Ya Later Pins led The 300’s and The Burton Strike by one game. The Pin Heads were guaranteed fifth but the Cyclones and The Strike Force were fighting for sixth. Kyle Surber shot a great game and series of 256 and 599 to top the Junior/Major boys. Aja Drew threw the girls’ highs of 155 and 373. Paul Jensen had a 219 and 533; Seth Jensen a 197 and 521; Tianna Drew a 117 and 334; and Dyani Holzhausen a 142 and 340. First place was still on the line for three teams going into Sunday. Cotton- Headed Ni. And Team 162 were tied ahead of The Trojans. The next places were just as tight with Team Flip leading The Blonde Bombs by one game who had a two-game lead over the Head Pins. Sunday was the final league day for the Havre Youth. I hope to have the final results for you next week. The awards day has been scheduled for March 18. A very belated birthday to Kenny Beck who turned the big 40 on the Feb. 16. Aslee Witters gains on Friday. Mike Mariani picked a 3-6-7; Barb DeRosa 5-10; Leah Hansen and Erik Fee 5-7s; Kurt Shulund 4-10; Becky Blake 5-6-10; Michale Beck 5-7 and 6-7- 10; and this one a 7-8. Diane Hamilton’s 210 was the high game and the only 200 of the week. Trisha Keeler had the series of 511 and Dana Seidel hit a 500. Without a doubt, Ken Riska’s 300 was the high game. Shawn Mariani peeled off games of 258, 252, and 214 for a 724. Shawn also had a 231, 658 and 256 and Riska finished his night with a 659. Art Olson shot a 248 and 618; Lorin Teske a 266; and Dave Wolf a 246, 600. Six-shooters were: Lorin Tekske 626; Ron Tompt 607 and 606; Dustin Kinsella 613; Garcia Duran 608; and Jay Burrington 616. The high four-game of 860 belonged to Ken Riska. Dustin Kinsella had an 834; Ron Tompt an 841; Art Olson an 827; Lorin Teske an 814; and Shawn Mariani a 821.
RUDYARD: Dave Herman and Shawn Rettig had the men’s highs last week with 244 and 586, respectively. Krisitie Muir’s 199-game and Dani Kline’s 518 series were high for the women. Barry Crowder shot a 580; Dan Hybner 584; Dave Watson 585; and Rose Spinler a 516. Mike Johnson converted a 4-5-10; Dani Kline 2-7; Dave Watson 3-7; and Shirely Kline a 5-7 and 3-10.
