FORT BELKNAP Georgia Lea Blackwolf, 56, of Harlem, “Rainbow Woman” (Pi-si-moi-ahpi- Iskwew), died Tuesday, April 24, 2007, of natural causes at her home.
A wake will be held at starting at noon today at the St. Paul Catholic Church Recreation Center. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul’s Catholic Church with Father Bob Erickson S.J. officiating. Georgia was born April 2, 1951, to Dorence G. and Rose May (Cochran) Blackwolf at Fort Belknap Agency. She attended the Hays Mission School and the Fort Belknap College. Georgia married Daniel Denny on Oct. 20, 1971. The couple had six children and later divorced. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gary Horseman and Benjamin Horseman; sisters, Cheryl Dolly Blackwolf, Lana H. Blackwolf, Anna Horseman, Hannah Horseman and Laverne Horseman. Survivors include Darryl Blackwolf of Fort Belknap; Michael (Joyce) Blackwolf of Pablo, Larrisa Denny of Rocky Boy, Dara (Albert) Snell of Fort Belknap, Golden Denny of Rocky Boy and Danson Denny of Rocky Boy; brothers, Jim (Theresa) Blackwolf of East Glacier; Reuben (Jackie) Horseman of Fort Belknap, Michael Horseman of Fort Belknap, Preston (Jeri) Blackwolf of Fort Belknap and Joseph (Denise) Blackwolf of Minneapolis; sisters, Ruby (Prince) Brockie of Hays, Ola (Bobby Lee) Cochran of Hays, Amy Messerly of Fort Belknap and Marlene Stiffarm of Fort Belknap; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and one great-grandchild. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Chinook.
