Lois L. Olson, 79, of Havre died Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at Northern Montana Hospital after a brief illness.
Her memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Fifth Avenue Christian Church with Rowlie Hutton officiating. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the church immediately after the service. Lois Lorraine Crites was born Oct. 12, 1927, to Fred and Achsah (Huestis) Crites of Gildford. She graduated from Gildford High School. On April 27, 1946, Lois married Lloyd A. Olson. Lois was employed at Dave’s Food, Buttrey Foods and Safeway of Havre. After her retirement, Lois became active in Northern Montana Hospital Auxiliary and North Central Senior Citizens Center. She was a member of Fifth Avenue Christian Church. Lois enjoyed reading, playing cards, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers: Vern, Don, Harold, Richard, Warren and Fred Crites Jr. Sisters Gracie Crites, Cleona Poore and Dorothy Kidd and a son in-law, Larry Tonjum. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Lloyd A. Olson of Havre; children, Darlene Tonjum (Bill Olsen) of Havre, Terry R. Olson of Chinook, Rhonda Olson-Terry of Havre and Kristy Olson (Hugh McLaughlin) of Great Falls; sisters, Doreen Rutter, LaRena Stewart, June Youso and Jeanne Johnston; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions in Lois’s honor may be made to the American Cancer Society. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
