LESLIE EUGENE WHITE obituary

KALISPELL Leslie Eugene White, 90, died Monday, June 4, 2007, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. at the Corvallis Cemetery Saturday, June 30. Leslie was born March 25, 1917, in Corvallis to Clyde and Bernice White. He attended grade school in Corvallis and high school in Hamilton. He worked for the Johnson Ranch in Jackson, then the U. S. Forest service in 1939. In January 1940, he enlisted in the U. S. Army. He took his basic training with the 75th Field Artillery Company at Fort Ord, Calif. He married Charlaine Hunt Trisdale on Feb. 12, 1941. He shipped out on July 11, 1943, to the Aleutian Islands, returning on Nov. 25, 1944, and was assigned to the 205th Engineer Combat Battalion. He was discharged June 5, 1945. He lived in Hamilton where he was employed by the U.S. Post Office. He transferred to Huntington Park, Calif., where he was recalled back into the Army in 1949. He was discharged again on Feb. 14, 1951. Les rejoined the U.S. Post Office in 1951 and transferred to Livingston. He is preceded in death by his wife, Charlaine Victoria on March 15, 2006; a brother, Kenneth White; and a sister, Thelma Reed. He is survived by stepsons, F. V. Trisdale and Richard Lee Trisdale; sons, Gary F. White and Larry E. White; a daughter, Darlene White Good; sister, Delores Hersman; and a brother, Gene White. Arrangements are being made by Buffalo Hill Funeral Home and Crematory.
