Wilberta “Babe” Writing Bird Lee, Kahnahs- Ko-mi-Kot, 61, died Sunday, June 10, 2007, in Salt Lake City, Utah at the University Hospital of a heart attack.
Her wake service was held Wednesday, June 13 at the Rocky Boy Lutheran Church with her funeral service at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 14 also at the Rocky Boy Lutheran Church followed by the burial at the Rocky Boy Cemetery. Wilberta was born April 20, 1946, in Great Falls to Charles and Edith (Chief Goes Out) Writing Bird. She was raised and educated in Rocky Boy. Wilberta married William Lee in 1971 and had two children. Her hobbies included playing Keno and BINGO, watching her soap operas on Television her grandchildren and her Native American Church and the traditional Native American Ceremonies. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Margaret Weaving and Caroline Gray; nieces, Francine Harris and Cheryl Stump; nephews, Jon “Cubby” Morsette, Tyson Stump, Johnny Ironmaker; and one brother, James Ironmaker. Wilberta is survived by her children, Rochelle “Shelly” (Abel) Lee and Stacy (Brandon) Lee all of Great Falls; adopted son, Warren Chief Goes Out of Rocky Boy; brothers, Kenneth (Lorena) Writing Bird and Duncan (Francine) Standing Rock all of Rocky Boy; sisters, Amy Harris, Nadine Morsette and Ruby (Videl) Stump all of Rocky Boy; companion, LeRoy Winn of Great Falls; adopted sisters, Louise (Keith) Capps of Fort Hall, Idaho, Patsy Chippewa of Great Falls, Harriet Standing Rock of Rocky Boy and Sheila Denny of Great Falls; and grandchildren, KC, Robert, Kira, Teasha, Allison, Rocky, Shawn Lee; Michael Carrier, Leiloni Denny and Harold Denny Jr; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home
