The Tri-Agency Safe Trails Task Force has released information about items found last Thursday during a search of property in Saddle Butte Estates. Tri-Agency supervisor Jerry Nystrom said it is taking some time to go through the 145 items of evidence seized. “We’re still all sifting through everything,” he said. “ It’s going to take us a while to process everything.” No one has been arrested or charged as a result of the search to this point, Nystrom said. He said the task force received a search warrant for dangerous drug crimes from state District Court. It served the warrant last Thursday in conjunction with the Havre Police Department, the Hill County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Border Patrol, the Great Falls office of the state Department of Criminal Investigations, and the Federal Bureau of Investigations. While he said he couldn’t comment on this action specifically, Nystrom added that actions like last Thursday’s typically happen after several years of investigation. Due to the number of items seized, Nystrom said, it would have been impossible to give a detailed listing when the task force was contacted by the Havre Daily News Friday about serving the warrant. Exactly what charges, if Any, will be filed has not been determined at this point, Nystrom said. Nystrom said items law enforcement officers seized include 18 pounds of marijauna; more than 100 pills of prescription medication, and 14 grams of suspected psilocyban, or psychedelic mushrooms. The officers also seized more than $7,000 in cash and 12 firearms, he said. Nystrom said the legality of the cash and firearms has not been determined as yet, although it could be included as property subject to forfeiture if charges are filed.
