A 26-year-old Fort Benton man is dead and two people have been arrested, the Chouteau County sheriff says. The identity of the victim had not been released as of Monday morning. Th e s u s p e c t s, Ch a r l e s Lundy, 44, and Kelsey Morris, 23, were arrested Friday and are charged with murder, Sheriff Vern Burdick said. The body of the victim was found 20 miles northeast of Fort Benton on Friday afternoon after family members reported him missing, Burdick said. Authorities have yet to confirm how he was killed. The Montana Depar tment of Criminal Investigation is handling the case. Burdick said the fami ly noticed that the man didn't show up to work on Thursday morning, but didn't alert the police right away. "They wanted to exhaust all other avenues," Burdick said. But when the victim again failed to show up for work on Friday, the family reported him missing to the sheriff's office. "It was out of character for him not to show up for work," Burdick said. That same afternoon, Lundy and Morris were arrested after Burdick said invest igators received tips from the victim's parents. A motive has not yet been established, nor does Burdick know the relationship between the victim and the two suspects.
