"Whatever else you think . . . Think That You Can! Win Without Boasting . . . Lose Without Excuses!" This Friday night, Rock-N-Bowl starts. The cost will be $5 for all ages to bowl from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Jackpot bowling kicks off Saturday night at 8 p. m. The cost per person will be $17. The season will start with lots of cash in all the pots. The Have Youth season has been set to start Oct. 21 and will bowl for 15 weeks. “The Dewey” No-Tap is slated for the weekends of Nov. 24-25 and Dec. 1- 2. Holden’s Scotch Doubles is set for Jan. 26-27, 2008. All of these dates could be subject to change. We have tried to keep the youth leagues prices down as much as we can. Because of fee raises by USBC and the price of bowling raised, we can no longer go as we have been. Membership cards will be $12, Bantam bowling $5, and all others $8. There will be no raise for the PeeWees and at this time, a starting date has not been set. With school approval, we will be sending information sheets home with your youngsters. Michale Beck picked the 4-5-7 twice, Cindy Turner and Inetia Cantin 5-10s, Barb Miller and Lorin Teske 2-10s, Fern Lohse and Jackie Mayer 5-7s. Jen McLean lit up the lanes Tuesday night scoring a 596 with a 223 game. Jen’s game was a +75 and her series a +140. I had a 231 which was 100+ more than my first game. Christy Holden shot a 541, Trish Keeler a 515, and Lisa Morrell a 506. Kyle Surber has moved into the big leagues and started with some big scores. Surber threw a 274 and a 671. Kelly Olson hit a 265 and 624, Art Olson a 258, 630, and Kyle Fanning a 242. The following were “Six” shooters: Mike Hamilton 634, Ken Riska 608, Shawn Mariani 601, Roy Hamilton 614, and Lorin Teske 235 and 614. Art Olson had the high four-game series of 865. Surber hit an 856, Roy Hamilton an 806, Mike Hamilton an 808, Ron Turner an 803, and Ken Riska an 810. If the past week is any indication of what is to come, we can look forward to some great scores this year. So far, I have heard only one complaint on the oil pattern. No matter how it is set you just cannot please them all. The pro women will be bowling again this Sunday. The show can be seen on ESPN at 11 a.m. I just caught a peek at some of the scores from Sunday and Monday WOW!
