ARNOLD ALLEN obituary HARLEM

Arnold Allen, 73, of Harlem, died of cancer Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, at a Great Falls hospital.

A wake will be held today at the Fort Belknap Senior Citizen Center, with a rosary at 7 p. m. Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fort Belknap, with burial in Harlem Cemetery. Arnold was born June 1, 1934, and was raised and educated in Lodge Pole. During his youth, he worked on numerous ranches, and attended trade school for plumbing. In 1970, he started his own construction business, which lasted 11 years. He then owned and operated his own cattle ranch, which he loved. He also served as a Fort Belknap tribal councilman. He retired in 2004 to enjoy rodeo ropings, card games, and visiting friends and family. Arnold had a long, hard fight, and he will be missed by numerous friends and family. He is preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Blackbull; his father, William "Boots" Allen; and brothers and sisters Tom, Jenny Cliff, Dora Helgeson, Bob and Percy Healy, John, William, Okie and Regina Allen. Survivors include his wife, Alvina Allen; daughters, Dora (Mark) Leo, Desiree (Jerome) Bell and Leanne (Kris) Hedstrom; a son, Marty (Roxian) Dirden; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
