Raymond Sather, 86, of age-related causes in Sequim.

A memorial service was held Oct. 2 at 11 a.m. at Sequim Valley Chapel located at 108 W. Alder St. A open house followed at 230 House Road in Sequim. Raymond was born Sept. 5, 1921, in Havre to Alfred and Gena (Brenden) Sather. He served in the Marine Corps from 1942 to 1946, as a tank driver and was wounded in action in the South Pacific in 1944. He married Carol Block in Seattle on Feb. 14, 1948. After moving to Seattle in 1947, he was a fireman for the city of Seattle until 1952, when he moved his family back to Montana. He farmed and ranched in Montana until 1971, when he moved to Sequim. He was also employed as a mechanic for Seton Construction. He is preceded in death by brothers, Orville and Kenneth Sather; and sister, Frances. He is survived by his wife, Carol of Sequim; son, Ron of Port Angeles, Wash.; daughters, Dianne (Phil) Lyman of Enumclaw, Wash., Debra (Jim) Kiesser of Sequim, Jeanette Lieberg and Marilyn, both of Sequim; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
