Chris Jacobson, 94, died Nov. 5, 2007, at Sweet Nursing Home due to natural causes.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Kuper Memorial Cemetery. Chris was born on April 27, 1913, at the family ranch near Cleveland to Jacob and Liva (Olsen) Jacobson. He was raised in the Bears Paw Mountains and attended school at the T-U School. He worked for ranchers Art McLeish, Sevrin Severtson and Sam Williamson. Chris married Ruby Erskine on Dec. 3, 1953, in Great Falls. He was involved in trucking grain, operated a shoe repair shop in Chinook and later retired from Blaine County Road Department. Chris enjoyed gardening and provided cleaned, ready to eat produce from his large gardens for friends and neighbors. He was a fan of Gene Autry and Roy Rogers music. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Arthur and Elmer, and sisters Jessie, Ruth and Mabel. Chris is survived by his wife, Ruby Jacobson of Chinook, daughter Jan Johnson of Des Moines, Iowa, two granddaughters, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
