Dorothy E. (Darling) Butkunas, 66, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007.
Funeral services were held in Arlington Heights on Thursday. Dorothy was born to Robert and Florence Darling on Dec. 28, 1940. She graduated from Havre High School in Havre, Mont., in 1958 and from Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont., in 1962. Dorothy retired from her career as a research chemist for Universal Oil Products in Des Plaines after 35 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; aunts, Edith and Helen Olson, and brother-in-law, Peter Buinauskas. She is survived by her husband, Vaidotas J. Butkunas; sister, Patricia M. Dorr; brother, Michael P. Darling; sister-in-law Aldona Buinuaskas; brothers-inlaw, Roman (Birute) Butkunas and Andrew (Alyte) Butkunas. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society, 100 W. Palatine Road, Suite 150, Palatine, IL 60067, would be appreciated.
