The Montana National Guard
HELENA The Montana National Guard’s commanding general, Maj. Gen. Randy Mosley, and Montana’s senior noncommissioned officer, State Command Sgt. Major Robert Bennett, will be be in Havre on Tuesday to spend time with Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, disabled veterans, community leaders and interested residents. A short video will be presented followed by a briefing about the Montana National Guard. The intent of the visit is to communicate with the community and to inform the veterans and general public on the current operations and posture of the Montana Air and Army National Guard. Maj. Gen. Mosley will also share information about what the future may have in store Guardsmen along with benefits to soldiers and retirees. In addition, the National Guard is working with the Legislature and some of the initiatives proposed to state government will be shown. Mosley also will have a question-and-answer period at the end of the presentation. The meeting will be held at the Havre VFW at 6:30 p.m. The Montana National Guard currently has about 3,500 members. Much of the force has been deployed overseas in the last two years in support of the global war on terror. In the last year, the Montana Guard has been going through a transformation and was also fighting fires last summer throughout the state.
