The Idaho Press-Tribune and the Bozeman (Mont.) Daily Chronicle are getting new publishers. Bozeman Daily Chronicle publisher and president Rick Weaver, 54, will become publisher of the Idaho Press-Tribune in July, the newspaper reported Thursday. He replaces Stephanie Pressly, who is leaving the Press-Tribune after 3 1/2 years to take Weaver’s post at the Bozeman Daily Chronicle. Dave Lord, president of Pioneer Newspapers, which owns both newspapers, said the publisher swap is a natural fit that will ultimately benefit both papers. “We think that each has such great and unique skills and talents, it is a good move for them and for each of your papers,” Lord said. In Bozeman, Weaver oversaw the introduction of an array of specialized publications as well as core newspaper products. Weaver got his start in journalism in high school and joined Pioneer Newspapers in 1990 as advertising director at the Idaho State Journal. He also served as publisher of the Havre Daily News.
