Havre sculptor Corey Homes created this larger-than-life “Charlotte” for donation to the 2007 Havre High School graduating class. “The spider sculpture is being raffled to raise funds for the annual senior weekend, which is an alcohol-free, drugfree alternative for graduates to celebrate,” said Shirlee Perrodin, a member of the Parent Group for the Class of 2007. Raffle tickets for a chance to win the spider and help support the senior celebration are available at Fifth Avenue Grind or by calling Perrodin at 265-7816. Holmes created the spider with recycled metal, according to Perrodin. “Corey is becoming more and more well known,” she said. “This week he is in New York doing an art show. Lots of people have probably seen his work nailed to the top of fence posts around the area. It is all made of recycled metal and Corey tends to install his sculptures wherever the mood strikes him.” The spider is on display in the Short Stop parking lot on Fifth Avenue. Raffle tickets are available through May 24 only. The drawing will be held during the senior-family picnic on May 25.
