FLORENCE THIELTGES obituary

CHESTER Florence I. (Erlandson) Thieltges, 96, a longtime Chester area homemaker and farm wife, died Feb. 26, 2007, in Helena.

A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chester. Burial of ashes will follow at the Chester Cemetery. Florence was born Aug. 19, 1910, in Reeder, N. D., one of five daughters born to Fritz and Ida (Johnson) Erlandson. She married Peter Thieltges in 1945. They began farming near Chester in 1947 and retired in 1970. Pete died in 1987. Florence remained in Chester until 1991, then moved to Helena to be near her oldest son and family. She lived at the Waterford Retirement Center until her death. Florence enjoyed duplicate bridge and attended many national and international tournaments. She earned a Silver Life Master certificate in bridge. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and bead work. Survivors include her sons, Richard (Marty) Thieltges of Helena and Gary (Robin) Thieltges of Los Angeles; three grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins in the United States, Canada and Germany. Memorials will be given to St. Mary’s Church in Chester, the St. Mary Catholic Community in Helena, or donor’s choice. Arrangements are by Rockman Funeral Chapel
