Kathryn “Kathy” A. Friesen, 61, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at her home in Missoula.
A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held on Saturday at 5:30 p. m. at Franklin Park in Missoula. A graveside for family and friends will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Highland Cemetery in Havre. She was born June 14, 1946, in Havre the daughter of Charles and Emma Hyslop. She was married for 37 years to Richard L. Friesen and worked for School District # 1 at Franklin School for 18 years. Kathy belonged to the booster club, PTA, and the Family Resource Center. She enjoyed ceramics, recycling, crafts, Red Hats, and was a member of the Eagles Auxillary #166. She was a loving nana of 12 and loved spending time with family and friends. Kathy was a mother to many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Emma Hyslop; and two nephews. She is survived by her husband, Rick Friesen; her children, Chuck (Jenn) Friesen of Granite City, Ill., Jay (Denise) Friesen, Cindy Friesen and Geri Friesen, all of Missoula; sisters, Lillian Smith of Great Falls and Linda Hinkle of Havre. Garden City Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
