Marlys Elizabeth (Rolston) Danell, 88, formerly of Havre, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, at a Great Falls hospital.
A visitation will be held at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home in Havre from 7 to 9 p. m. Friday with a funeral service 2 p. m. Saturday at the St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastors Eric Stinnett and Mark Schultz officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the church immediately after the services at the graveside. Marlys was born January 6, 1919 to Charles and Ivy (Hill) Rolston on the family farm about 6 miles south of Kremlin. She attended grade school in Kremlin, her early high school years in Box Elder and then graduated from Havre High School. Marlys was very active in her church and her community. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing games, socializing at the family nights at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, caring for her family and friends and making breakfast for her son Donnie and his friends at 2 a.m. Marlys was an excellent cook whom you could always count on hashbrowns and eggs. She was a loving and compassionate person and would do anything for anyone. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister and one grandchild. Marlys is survived by her husband of 54 years, Donald A. Danell of Lewistown; six children, Jim Danell of Whitefish; Barbara (Lester) DeLange of Rexford; Jeanne (Ronald) Smeins of Great Falls; Dolores (Phil) Haglund of Brockway; Linda (Wrye) Spaulding of Lewistown, and Donald O. (Omie) Danell of Lewistown; one brother, Wilber Rolston of Kremlin; 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren and many other relatives. Memorial contributions in Marlys’ honor may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Parking Lot Fund. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
