Peggy Sue Favel, “Chief Thunderbird Woman”, 47, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007.
She was in the care of the Benefis East Hospital in Great Falls. Her wake service began Sept. 9 at her home in Rocky Boy and will move to the Rocky Boy Catholic Church in Rocky Boy today. Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church with Earl Arkinson officiating. Her burial will follow at the Rocky Boy Cemetery. Peggy was born Jan. 3, 1960, in Fort Belknap to Robert and Joanne (Carrywater) Favel Sr. She lived most of her life in Rocky Boy. She attended Stone Child College and graduated with her associates degree in human services. Peggy was an all around girl who enjoyed fishing, camping, powwows, bingo, beading and watching rodeos. Her smile was known by all and her good, wonderful sense of humor brought happiness to many people. She loved to dress up at Halloween and was a natural humorist. Peggy was industrious whether she was making artistic gifts for friends and family or finishing her degree from Stone Child College. The love she shared in life carries home. She passed away leaving many relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Favel, Sr.; her grandson, Shooter Lukie LaRose; her son, Chief Ben Tabbashoots LaRose; and brothers, Randy Favel, Sr. And Terry Favel, Sr. Peggy is survived by her sons, Sapanese (Florence) LaRose of Fort Duschene, Utah, Ricky Melvin (Verla) Favel of Rocky Boy and adopted son Randon (Olivia) Arkinson of Rocky Boy; her mother, Joanne Carrywater Favel of Rocky Boy; sisters, Roberta Ann (Alan) Favel of Coulee Dam, Wash., Joycelyn Marie Favel of Seattle, Wash. And Jackie Lee (Dave) Favel of Havre; brothers, Robert Wayne (Joan) Favel of Rocky Boy, Billy Joe (Donna) Favel of Smallboy Camp, Alberta, Canada; and numerous friends and relatives in Rocky Boy and Hays join the family in a celebration of her life. Arrangements are made by Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
