Marillyn L. Hoppe, 81, a resident of Havre, died on Nov. 18, 2007, at the Havre care center of natural causes.
Cremation has taken place and her Memorial Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the First Lutheran Church with Pastor Brad Ulgenes officiating. Marillyn was born June 3, 1926, in Minneapolis to Arthur and Olive A. (Olson) Nelson. She attended schools in Minneapolis and graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1944. After graduation, Marillyn traveled west to Montana to visit a friend in Havre, where she met and married Frank L. Hoppe on Nov. 13, 1948, in Havre. Frank was employed by Burt Cliteman at Auto Radiator Works which he later purchased upon Max Clikeman’s retirement. Marillyn and Frank raised two boys and were very supportive of the wrestling program the boys participated in and quite frequently traveled with the team, and were also active in TOPS and the 12 Step Program. Marillyn was very active in the First Lutheran Church and the various church guilds. She enjoyed playing bridge and played in many bridge clubs. She and Frank enjoyed traveling the went to Hawaii several times, Europe and Germany twice and took a cruise to the Bahamas with two of their good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Brian Hoppe, and a half-sister; Peggy Grappington. Marillyn is survived by her husband of 59 years, Frank L. Hoppe of Havre; Craig Hoppe of St. Ignatius; Dale (Margaret) Hoppe of Buena Park, Calif.; three grandchildren.
