Winning has become old hat to the Havre Ice Hawks high school hockey team. And the Ice Hawks flexed their muscle this past weekend on their home ice, beating the Miles City Generals handily in two games at the Havre Ice Dome. On Friday night, the Ice Hawks skated to an 8-2 win over the Generals. Havre's defense was superb as Miles City got off just 15 shots and Havre goalie David Zentmire made 13 saves. Offensively, Havre got two goals each from leading scorers Todd Roe and Tyler Boyce. Roe scored an unassisted goal and also scored on assists by Chase Hanson and Boyce. Meanwhile, Boyce found the net on assists from Paul Turner and Roe and Mason Sheppard. Boyce and Roe also teamed up on a goal by Sheppard, while Jess Majeres, Brad Hanson and Ryan Armstrong all scored goals as well. Jarrett McLain added two assists for Havre in the easy victory. On Saturday night, the Ice Hawks and Generals took to the ice again with Havre winning 9-2. Roe had a hat trick and an assist for the Ice Hawks, scoring twice on assists by Boyce and once on a stellar pass from Sheppard. Armstrong also found the net twice as did Sheppard, who scored one of his goals unassisted. Boyce finished the game with a goal and three assists. Shane Kemmer added a goal and Chase Hanson had three assists in the route. Miles City picked up their offense in Saturday's game, but the Generals were no match for Zentmire, who stopped 39 shots for Havre between the pipes. Havre is still undefeated at home this season and the Ice Hawks will next play in the Ice Dome on Jan. 19 against the Butte Blues.
