Alice Ann Harshaw, 82, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at the Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes.
Viewing will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Van Orsdel United Methodist Church with Pastor Richard Rice officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the Eagles immediately after the services at the graveside. Alice was born June 30, 1925, in Havre to Paul and Hariett (Butterfield) Miller. She was raised in Havre attending Havre Public Schools. She married Paul Bulman in 1943 and they farmed in the Kremlin area. They had four children. Paul passed away in May of 1955. Alice married Fred Harshaw Nov. 12, 1960. He passed away in March of 2001. Alice worked as a waitress and also as a clerk at IGA until she retired in 1985. Alice was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed camping. She enjoyed playing pinochle and bingo. Alice had many life long friends and enjoyed visiting and playing cards with them. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly. Alice was a member of the Van Orsdel United Methodist Church and a life long member of the Havre Eagles. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Paul Bulman and Fred Harshaw; sons, Richard Bulman and Vernon Harshaw; brothers, Vion Hyslop and Williard (Emma) Hyslop; one grandson, John Kampf; and a son in-law, Bill Weber. Alice is survived by her children, DeeAnn Brese of Havre, Carolyn Weber of Great Falls, Marilyn Cline of Ashland, Ky., Mel (Shiela) Harshaw of Spannaway, Wash.; and daughter-in-law, Anne Bulman of Havre and her only sister, Dolly “Lillian” (Roy) Haugen of Shelby; and several nieces and nephews; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
