The Havre Ice Hawks high school hockey team has played almost flawless hockey inside the Havre Ice Dome this season. But this past weekend, the Ice Hawks were on their home ice in name only as they played host to arch rival, the Great Falls Americans. The games, considered home games for the Americans because they are still without a rink of their own in Great Falls, were unusually one-sided, and they weren't in favor of the Ice Hawks. On Friday night, the usually-potent Ice Hawks were shut out by the Americans, 3-0 as Havre suffered its first loss inside the Havre Ice Dome since it was beaten by Great Falls in the state championship game last March. Havre couldn't stop the Great Falls attack despite 18 saves from goalie David Zentmire, and the Ice hawks' normally high-octane offense never got in gear. And the same could be said for Saturday morning's rematch between the Ice Hawks and Americans. Great Falls once again found holes in the Havre defense as the Americans blitzed the Ice Hawks 6-1. Zentmire was under siege all day, but the veteran goalie did stop 21 Great Falls shots in the loss. Havre's only goal came from leading scorer Todd Roe, who put in a shot on an assist from Kyle Miller. Havre is still leading the conference standings heading into two more home games this weekend. The Ice Hawks will play host to the Missoula Bruins on Friday at 8:15 p.m. and Saturday at 11 p.m.
