Scott Emery Swanson, 49, died unexpectedly Wed. February 6, 2008, at his home in Havre.
The cause of his death has not yet been determined. His memorial service will be 2 p. m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at the Fifth Avenue Christian Church with Pastor Rowlie Hutton officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will follow at the Highland Cemetery. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the church immediately after the graveside services. Memorial contributions in Scott’s honor may be made to the Sand’s Memorial Foundation, P.O. Box 1450, Havre, Montana 59501. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Scott was born Feb. 21, 1958, in Havre to Raymond and Marvel (Wilson) Swanson. He was raised and educated in Havre, graduating from Havre High School in 1975. He went to work for Abercrombie Pipeline for a few years, then the City Of Havre, and then worked in maintenance for the Havre Public Schools. Scott was a hard worker, a very loyal friend and had a compassionate heart. He enjoyed coin and antique collecting and carpentry work. He liked older cars, especially his ’67 Chevrolet Nova. He enjoyed boxing when he was younger and was a loving father and grandfather. His greatest enjoyment was when he was with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Scott is survived by his two children: Jared Swanson of Bozeman; Morgan (Nick) Jensen of Roland, Okla.; his sisters: Shannon (Paul) Sohm of Kremlin, Shelly (Doug) Erhard of Havre and Sandy (Bill) Martian of Helena; brothers: Steve (Shirley) Swanson of Westminster, Colo. And Stuart Swanson of Havre; two granddaughters: Rylee and Makenzie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
