Ben Hiebert, 76, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2008, in Eaton Rapids.
Ben was born Dec. 26, 1931, in Chinook, Mont., the son of Peter and Mary (Simko) Hiebert. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U. S. Air Force. Ben was a member of the Aurelius Baptist Church, a Michigan Historical Museum Docent, and a charter/founding member of Montanians in Michigan. He retired from G.M. as a supervisor (Mobil Equipment Maintenance) after 27 years of service. Preceded in death by two, brothers, Bob and Bill Hiebert, Ben is survived by his wife of 53 years, Beverly A. (Barry) Hiebert; children, Becky Hiebert of Onondaga, Ben (Joyce) Hiebert of Mason, Brenda (fianc, Tom Emrick) Turner of Leslie, Bradley (Tina) Hiebert of Mason, and Bryan Hiebert of Onondaga; four grandchildren, Jeremy (Amy) and Brandon Turner, Harrison Hiebert and Nichole (Mike) Hiebert-Quick; two great-granddaughters, Emersen Turner and Natalie Hiebert-Quick; sister, Betty Waid of Havre, Mont.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at the Aurelius Baptist Church, 4419 W. Barnes Rd., Mason, MI, with interment following at Greenwood Cemetery, Aurelius. The family planned to receive friends and family on Monday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Aurelius Baptist Church.
