With a break in all of the foul weather recently, a pair of Havre High athletic teams will be in action this afternoon. In Glasgow, the Havre High softball team will make up a game against the Class B Glasgow Scotties, beginning with the varsity game at 3:30 p.m. The junior varsity game will get under way immediately following the conclusion of the first game. Today's game in Glasgow is a makeup game of a meeting between the two teams that was cancelled last Tuesday because of a snow storm that blew through the Hi-Line area. The cancellation of last Tuesday's game coupled with HHS's cancelled Western Conference game in Browning on Saturday means the Ponies come into today's affair with the Scotties after an unexpected nine-day layoff. HHS (1-8) last played on April 12 in Columbia Falls. Today's game will also see the Ponies try to snap an eight-game losing streak that started almost three weeks ago with four losses at home. Havre started the year off by pummeling Browning, but then losing eight straight, including four losses on the road two weeks ago, at Libby and at Columbia Falls. The eight losses were all conference games, and have essentially knocked Havre out of contention for a third straight appearance in the Class A state tournament. Today's game in Glasgow is the only game on the docket for HHS this week. The Ponies will next be in action on May 2-3 when they host the Havre Invitational. Meanwhile, the weather should cooperate enough today for the Havre High boys and girls tennis teams to get a scheduled dual meet in with CMR and Great Falls High this afternoon in Great Falls. The Blue Ponies have only completed one full meet in the first four weeks of the regular season, which came two weeks ago in Havre. This past weekend, HHS traveled to the prestigious Helena Invitational and played a full day of matches on Friday, before Saturday's action was snowed out. The Ponies will face CMR today at 2 and GFH immediately following that dual, with all of the action taking place at the CMR Tennis Courts. HHS will also be back in Great Falls on Friday and Saturday for the annual Great Falls Invitational. The HHS boys and girls track teams were also supposed to make-up a scheduled dual against GFH in Havre today, but that meet has been postponed for a third time.
