Even though the spring has yielded little in the way of good weather for track meets around the Hi-Line, some of Montana's best athletes still gathered in Glasgow for the annual Top 10 Meet. On Tuesday afternoon, several Havre Blue Ponies and other area athletes competed in the Glasgow Top 10 with plenty of success. The Havre boys had a strong day against strong competition, especially seniors Jason Mudrow and Kyle Finneman. Mudrow won both hurdle events and finished third in the high jump, while Finneman placed in the sprints. Mudrow captured the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.3 and the 300 hurdles with a time of 40.2. He also jumped 6-0 in the high jump. Meanwhile, Finneman, a former Class A state champion sprinter, placed second in the 100 meters with a time of 11.9 and fourth in the 200 with a time of 23.6. The Ponies also got a victory from Andy Keim in the 1,600 meters as he crossed the line in 4:48.2 and Robert The Boy finished second in the discus. HHS jumpers also had a solid meet, with Jack Teske finishing second in both the triple jump and the long jump, and teammate Mike Hickman finishing third in the long jump. Both of HHS's relay teams also placed in the meet. Harlem athletes also made a good showing on Tuesday. Kameron Gilham won the high jump event and placed fourth in the discus, while Isaiah Martin won the long jump and finished second in the high jump. Senior Rick Haluszka also finished second in both the shot put and the javelin. On the girls side, Havre got a second- place finish from Madison Ruff in the high jump and a third-place finish by Hannah Wells in the 300 hurdles. Ruff jumped 4-10 in place second, while Wells finished the high hurdles with a time of 48.0. Havre's 1,600-meter relay team also placed third overall. Other Hi-Line athletes that had a solid day in Glasgow included Chinook's Tia Bower who finished second in the 100 meters and third in the 200 meters. Harlem's Diana Buck also finished third in the long jump. The full HHS track teams will be back in action on Saturday when the Blue Ponies travel to Lewistown for the Fergus Invitational.
