ANNA I. SATTLEEN obituary

Anna I. Sattleen, 74; long time Chinook resident passed away May 23, 2008 at her home in Missoula due to cancer.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 30, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the American Lutheran Church with burial following in Kuper Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the American Lutheran Church or one’s choice. Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook. Anna was born on August 9, 1933 in Havre to Harold and Mildred (Halverson) Holmes. She was raised in Chinook and graduated from high school there in 1951. She married Jack Sattleen on Sept. 6, 1953. Anna worked for the cities of Minneapolis and Chinook. She was also a sales clerk for Armstrong’s His and Hers. She was a lifelong member of the American Lutheran Church, sang in the church choir, did quilting and made school bags for the church relief programs. Anna enjoyed playing in a pinochle club and cards with couples on New Year’s Eve. Her hobbies included cross stitching, sewing, crocheting, knitting, cooking, entertaining and remodeling homes with her husband. Anna’s greatest joy was her grandchildren, family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Jack Sattleen of Missoula; daughter, Carla Clement of Missoula; grandchildren Stacey, Brandon and Courtney Clement, all of Missoula; one greatgrandchild; brothers John (Norrie) Holmes of Havre and Richard (Renae) Holmes of Stevensville; sisters Marie Rindy of Portland, N. D., Arlene Holmes of Sun City, Ariz., Helen Parnell of Chinook; and numerous nieces and nephews. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, son Mike Sattleen in 1984, son-in-law Darrell Clement, and brother Robert Holmes.
