Fresh air and fine tunes are finally returning to Town Square as summer weather sets in this week. However, instead of The Other Brothers Band spreading tunes at noon as in past years, the venue has moved to Kicks @ 6!. The Other's Brothers Band will be entertaining the community each Wednesday (weather permitting) from 6 to 7 p.m throughout the summer. "Due to the rainy and unpredictable weather last Wednesday, the first in a series of 11 summer outdoor music events had to be cancelled," said event coordinator and Havre Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Deb Vandeberg. "Better weather is in the forecast so plans are moving ahead to kick off the summer music season this Wednesday evening at 6 p.m." The change from offering tunes at noon, a popular attraction in the past, was made by the Chamber so as not run into audible competition with the noise from the First Street construction project, Vandeberg said. "We also moved the activity to the evening based on the success of our final concert last summer, which was held after work," she added. "The evening time allows more business folks to attend." Devon Energy Corp. is again this summer’s financial sponsor of the open air music. Vandeberg said she greatly appreciated Devon Energy for its support of this valued community activity. Bev Halter of Devon Energy is expectedTo take to the stage during this week's opening event to make the check presentation. "The Band entertained large crowds last summer at the Town Square and provided a pleasant opportunity for people to have picnic lunches with friends," said Vandeberg. "This year, instead of lunch, pack up that dinner picnic basket and dine alfresco with friends and family at the Town Square. Mark your calendars for Kicks @ 6! On Wednesdays, through Aug. 20. See you at the Square."
