MARY R. MALONEY-KINDER obituary BUTTE

Former Havre and Malta resident Mary R. Maloney-Kinder, 96 years, a homemaker, died Thursday, June 26, at a Butte care center of natural causes.

Funeral Mass will be 2 p.m., Thursday, July 3, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Malta. Interment will be in the Malta Cemetery. There will be visitation at the Adams Memorial Chapel on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p. m. Adams Funeral Home of Malta is in charge of arrangements Survivors include her son, Dan (Helen) Maloney of Loring; daughter, Agnes (Don) Chase of Butte; brother, Pete (Frances) Zaparnuk of Big Sandy; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Christy Maloney on Sept. 19, 1961, and Murvel Kinder on Jan. 1, 1984; daughters, Rita C. Lang on Aug. 23, 1982 and Dorothy Reed on Oct. 16, 2002; and granddaughter, Dawn Drew in April 2008. Mary was born Marya Andruchow on Feb. 1, 1912, at Cedoux, Sask., Canada. She was the daughter of emigrants, Henry and Sophia (Siskavich) Andruchow, who changed the last name to Andrews when they moved to the Caldwell Community in North Phillips County when Mary was very young. They changed her name to Mary Rita Andrews. She graduated from the Sunny Slope School and started working for the old Chris and Agnes Maloney Ranch. She married Christy (C.J.) Maloney on June 21, 1927, in Malta. They ranched in the Loring Community of Phillips County until he passed away in 1961. She moved to Malta where she made her home for a few years. She married Murv Kinder in Havre in 1964. They made their home in Havre and when Murv passed away she continued to live there until 2006 when she moved to Butte. Mary was a patient, kind, generous and loving woman who had a contagious sense of humor. She enjoyed dancing, gardening, sewing, cooking and spoiling her grandchildren.
