LEONA JENSEN obituary

Leona Jensen, 81, died Tuesday Aug. 5, 2008, at the Northern Montana Hospital of natural causes.

At her request cremation has taken place. Her memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2008, at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel with Father Robert D. Grosch officiating. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the St. Jude Knights Of Columbus Hall immediately after the services. Memorial contributions in Leona’s honor are encouraged to a memorial of your preference. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Leona was born Feb. 13, 1927, in Chinook to Herman and Sylvia (Halenberg) Albrecht. She was raised in the Chinook area and attended schools at South Wagner, Hoagland and Dodson. On Aug. 6, 1944, she married Gordon August Jensen in Dodson. Together they made their home in Havre and then moved to Snoqualmie, Wash., Ketchikan, Alaska and then later returned to Havre. Leona was a very active woman who participated in TOPS and the Red Hats, served on the Northern Montana Care Center Residents Council and was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and St. Jude Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Allen and Elwyn Bapp; her husband, Gordon Jensen; and three sons, Melvin, Leland and Delbert Jensen. Leona is survived by her children, Peggy Freier (Irene) of Edgewater, Md., Royal Jensen of Havre, Greg (Joan) Jensen of Conrad, Darlene Jensen of Boise, Idaho, and Pat (Mary) Jensen of Havre; 11 grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and her brother Floyd Bapp of Irvine, Calif. The family of Leona would like to express gratitude to the staff at the Northern Montana Care Center for their concern and care of their mother and grandmother.
