Normally fans across the Hi-Line have to wait until Friday or Saturday to watch their teams in action, but this past week, area teams were kicking off as soon as Tuesday due to MEA Week in Montana. In Northern C play on Tuesday, the No. 8 Chinook Sugarbeeters were on the road to take on the Chester J/I Hawks. Both teams were coming off of impressive wins last weekend, but on Tuesday, the Hawks were overwhelmed as the Beeters went on to a 54-0. The Beeters got off to a fast start, putting up 28 first-quarter points on four straight Greg Qualls touchdowns. Qualls was a factor on offense, defense and special teams with two rushing touchdowns, one interception return and one punt return for a touchdown. From start to finish, the Beeters never let up. Tyler Molyneaux had two touchdowns passes, one to Willie Miller, and the other to Dylan MacLean. And also adding to the scoreboard for the Beeters were Josh Jones and Ben Stroh with a touchdown runs. With the win on Tuesday, the Beeters advanced to 6-1, and the Hawks dropped to 3-4. On Friday, the Beeters are at home for their final regular season game to take on another Northern C rival Rocky Boy. C/J-I is also at home to take on Simms. Last Saturday, the North Star Nights handed Great Falls Central a devastating loss, but on Tuesday, it seemed that the league-leading Geraldine Tigers gave the Knights a dose of their own medicine. The league-leading Tigers defeated the Knights 48-13, and proved why they were at the top of the Northern Six-man Division, even on the road in Rudyard. Stephen Rios lead the scoring for the Tigers with four touchdowns, but two other Tigers stepped up as well. For the Knights, Paul McClendon had a 35-yard reception and a 46-yard reception for touchdowns to get them on the board in the fourth quarter. After a tough loss on Tuesday, the 3-4 Knights are at home on Saturday to take on rival Big Sandy for their final regular season game.Last Saturday, the North Star Nights handed Great Falls Central a devastating loss, but on Tuesday, it seemed that the league-leading Geraldine Tigers gave the Knights a dose of their own medicine. After a tough loss on Tuesday, the 3-4 Knights are at home on Saturday to take on rival Big Sandy for their final regular season game. It could have been the quick turnaround, or just the momentum of the Power-Dutton-Brady Titans, but whatever it was, it proved to be too much for the Rocky Boy Stars. On Wednesday in Power, the Titans beat the Stars by a final score of 58-0. After Wednesday’s Northern C showdown, the Stars record dropped to 2-5, while the Titans improved to 4-3. Rocky Boy has lost five straight games after starting the season 2-0. For the Titans, Travis Somerfeld threw for three touchdowns, while Willie VandenBos and Geret Johnson also put up two touchdowns. Loy Bink also scored for the Titans and Matt Johnson also had scoring rushes of one and five yards. The Stars usually potent offense couldn't get going at Power, as Rocky Boy was held under 200 yards of total offense and was kept off the scoreboard. On Friday night, the Stars (2-5) travel to take on the Chinook Sugarbeeters (6-1) in their final regular season game. When looking at the final score, it is obvious that a Wednesday Six-man football game was no problem for Big Sandy. On Wednesday night, the Big Sandy Pioneers were hosting the Great Falls Central Mustangs, and the Pioneers handed the Mustangs a 56-8 loss and improved to 3-4. The Pioneers came out strong, and stayed strong for four quarters of play. At halftime, they were leading the Mustangs 34-8. Ryne LaBuda had four rushing touchdowns and also caught a 34-yard pass from Kruz McDermott. Taylor Ophus also caught a TD pass from Mc- Dermott, while Ryan Miller and Weston Brown rushed for touchdowns. The only Mustang score came from Wes Miller in the second quarter. The Pioneers (3-4), will travel to North Star (3-4) on Saturday for their six-man regular season finale. Harlem didn’t have long to work out the kinks from a loss to Shelby, as the Wildcats also had short week of practice. On Wednesday, the Harlem Wildcats traveled to take on Wolf Point in Class B action, but were unable to get the win. Wolf Point defeated the Wildcats 38-14. At halftime, the Wildcats were down 19-14 after a 17-yard Jeremiah Horn reception, and a 20-yard Isaiah Martin reception by Taylor First Raised. But unfortunately that was all the points the Wildcats would score. After halftime, Wolf Point went on to score 18 more points in the third quarter. The productive third quarter by Wolf Points' offense and defense was enough to keep the Wildcats from getting back into the game. The Wildcats (2-5) will be playing their final game of the season on Friday as they stay at home to host Glasgow.
