Thomas Jay Parker Sr., 46, Wah-s-Kah-m-piye- so, All around Thunderbird, died Friday morning, Dec. 12, 2008, at Northern Montana Hospital of cancer.
His wake service began at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14 2008, at the Rocky Boy Lutheran Church with his funeral service 9 a. m. today at the Rocky Boy Lutheran Church with Father Pete Guthneck officiating. Burial was to follow at the Parker Ranch. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home Thomas was born July 26, 1962, in Fort Belknap, Mont., to John and Helen (Sunchild) Parker Jr. He was raised in Rocky Boy, attending schools there and attended Box Elder High School. Thomas was an outdoors man who loved horses and lived as an old fashioned cowboy throughout his life. He enjoyed his friends and family and always had a smile on his face. He had a great sense of humor and was always up for a good joke with his buddies. He also enjoyed handgame, playing poker and liked to listen to good powwow songs. He enjoyed spending time with his special friend Shirley Descharme, his family and friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Chase Parker, and his paternal grandparents, John and Elizabeth Parker, and maternal grandparents, Pete and Fannie Sunchild. Thomas is survived by his parents, John and Helen Parker Jr,. Of Rocky Boy; Mont.; one son, Thomas Parker, Jr., of Rocky Boy, Mont.; his daughter, Kari Lynn Parker of Louieville, Ky.; and his special friend, Shirley Descharm, and her children Mary (Hunter) Burns; Tracey (Kenny) Watson; Dianna (Thomas) Roastingstick; Penny (John) Parker and “Sun” Sammy Descharm Jr; brothers: Tim (Stephanie) Parker of Rocky Boy, Mont., and Todd (Julie) Parker of Tulsa, Okla.; Darwin John (Penny) Parker of Rocky Boy, Mont.; sisters: Jonna (Frank) Stiffarm of Rocky Boy, Mont., Blue (Marvin) Belcourt of Rocky Boy, Mont., and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as grandchildren who adored their papa.
