RITA IONE GETTEN obituary HARLEM

Rita Ione Getten, 44, a former Harlem resident, died of cancer Dec. 23, 2008, at the home of her sister, Rebecca Solders, in New Plymouth, Idaho.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at 11 a. m. in the Harlem United Methodist Church with burial following in the Harlem Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Harlem United Methodist Church. Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook. Rita was born on June 6, 1964, to Irvin and Jean (Urquhart) Getten at Fort Belknap Agency. She graduated from Harlem High School in 1982 and graduated from University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Wash., on Dec.r 19, 1991, with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science/ business. She loved to visit, play games and cards. Rita always liked to have a pet cat or dog around and she had a passion for cars. Survivors include her son, Thomas, of Kansas; brothers Alec (Helen) Urquhart of Colorado Springs, Colo., Jack (Kathy) Getten and Hugh (Patty) Getten, all of Harlem; sisters, Ruth (Perry) Brown of Harlem and Rebecca (Perry) Solders of New Plymouth, Idaho; several nieces and nephews. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Jean Getten; and brothers, James, Frank and Charles Getten.
