Herman R. Pruys “Jr,” 67 beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many passed away Jan. 10, 2008 after a courageous and prolonged battle with multiple myeloma.
A vigil will be held Thursday, Jan. 17 at 7 pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 19 at St. Jude’s parish at 11 a.m. Both services will be at the St. Jude Catholic Church. A private burial service will take place Sunday north of Havre. Jr was born Feb. 10, 1940 in Havre, Mont., son of Christin and Herman Pruys. He attended Havre Central, owned and ran H & R Texaco with his brother-inlaw Ray Berg until starting work for Triangle Telephone. He retired after 30 years and then continued to enjoy working his summer jobs with Heberleys. His passion was his family, friends, “coffee time” and tinkering with all that “good stuff” in his shop. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Angie (Mike) Fitz, Dorothy Sivertsen; and best friend and brother-inlaw, Ray Berg. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Joyce; daughters, Carol (Paul) Tenorio of Phoenix Ariz. And Mary (Mike) Wooldridge of Riverside Calif.; three beautiful granddaughters, Ashley, Brook and Carly; brother, Joe Pruys; sister, Anna Berg; niece and nephews; as well as many very dear friends. Jr touched the lives of all who knew him and will be in our hearts forever. Services are in the care of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home of Havre.
