The Havre Ice Hawks high school hockey team went on the road this weekend, and after a pair of hardfought games in Billings, they came home with the Western Division regular season championship. Havre earned a tie and a win over the Billings Bulls, wrapping up the division title for the second straight season. On Saturday night, the Ice Hawks and Bulls skated to a 1-1 tie, the Ice Hawks second tie of the year. Havre goalie David Zentmire was spectacular in the game, stopping 29 shots from a relentless Billings attack. The Ice Hawks also got a goal from leading scorer Todd Roe, with Tyler Boyce assisting on the play. On Sunday in Billings, Roe and Boyce hooked up for a critical goal yet again, as the Ice Hawks edged the Bulls 3-1 behind another stellar game form Zentmire. The senior goal keeper stopped 27 shots on goal in the win. Roe's score was big, and Shane Kemmer scored an important unassisted goal in the win. Paul Turner also scored on assist by Kemmer, who had a fine all-around game for the Ice Hawks. With the two wins, Havre is finished with league play for the season. The Ice Hawks will be back on the road this weekend for a pair of nonleague games in Whitefish.
