Marilyn LaFontaine, 55, died in Lummi, Wash., Feb. 27, 2008, of liver failure.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held in Washington on Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, and a memorial feed was scheduled at John Capture Center in Hays Saturday, March 8, 2008. Marilyn was born May 2, 1952, to Esther Nicholson and Albert LaMere. She was raised and attended school in Great Falls. She has three beautiful children, Holly, Larry, and Steve. On Jan. 2, 1994, she married her soul mate Anthony “Tony” LaFontaine. Together they embarked on the journey of life. She worked as a secretary for a construction company that afforded her an opportunity to travel all over the United States. Traveling was a way of life for the happy couple. In their spare time they loved to go bowling and to play pool. The couple eventually found their home in Lummi. She loved the people and beautiful scenery in Lummi. After settling in Lummi she could be found visiting friends and engaged in a game of backgammon. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Anthony “Tony” LaFontaine of Maple Falls, Wash.; sons, Curtis “Steve” (Marsha) LaMere of Ft. Belknap, Larry (Roberta) Cochran of Wolf Point; daughter Holly LaMere of Seattle; stepchildren, Lisa LaFontaine of Santa Maria, Calif., Jessica, Mandy, Tommy, Anthony, Jr., and Juanita LaFontaine, all of Kennewick, Wash.; sisters, Toni (Clarence) LaFontaine of Nespelem, Wash., Sherry (Tony) Komeotis of Great Falls; brother, Ronnie Martinez of Malta; 21 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Marilyn was preceded in death by her mother, Esther Nicholson-Belcourt; father, Albert LaMere; brother, Albert “Punkin” LaMere, and four grandchildren.
