KENNETH D. MACLEAN obituary CHINOOK

Kenneth D. MacLean, 78, a retired Chinook postal worker, died of natural causes on Friday, April 4, 2008, at Northern Montana Hospital in Havre.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 11, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the Chinook Presbyterian Church with burial following at the Kuper Memorial Cemetery. Viewing will be Thursday, April 10, 2008, at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. Memorials may be sent to the Chinook Presbyterian Church or one’s choice. Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook. Kenny was born to Kenneth and Annie (MacLellan) MacLean on May 25, 1929 at the family homestead in Cleveland. After graduating from Chinook High School in 1947, he worked several jobs, including a stint at the Hanford Atomic Works in Washington. He returned to Chinook and on July 14, 1957, he married Mary Ashcraft in Chinook. He worked for three decades at the Chinook Post Office until he retired in 1990. Kenny enjoyed woodworking, bowling, and cards, especially pinochle. He was active in the Eagles and the Chinook Volunteer Fire Department. He will be remembered by friends and loved ones as a sweet, quiet man with simple needs and a warm heart. Kenny is survived by his children, Kathy Jacobsen (George) Fahrenbruck of Cut Bank, Thom (Tori) MacLean of Chinook and Heather (Russ) Ostwalt of Havre, as well as six grandchildren, Jessica and Ben Jacobsen, Dylan and Jacob MacLean and Dani and Mollie Ostwalt. Kenny was preceded in death by Mary, his wife of 49 years in 2006; his parents, Kenneth and Annie MacLean; brothers, Angus and Murdo MacLean; sister Mary Newby, and son-in-law Steve Jacobsen.
