The Montana Highway Patrol reports that a young girl was killed in a crash in Harlem Sunday and three local residents were injured in another crash west of Havre Saturday. The name of the 5-year-old girl killed when she rode her bicycle in front of a vehicle in Harlem Sunday has not been released, pending notification of relatives. Saturday, Ezra Wagner, 78, and Angel Wagner, 73, both of Havre, and Betty Myers of Box Elder, 48, were injured in a two-vehicle crash near Havre and transported to Northern Montana Hospital. Benefis Hospital in Great Falls listed an Ezra Wagner and a Angel Wagner as patients this morning, but no details were available. Betty Myers was not a patient at Northern Montana Hospital or Benefis this morning. In Sunday’s fatality, the driver of a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe was driving south on Main Street in Harlem at 12:08 p.m. when the 5-year-old rode her bicycle in front of the vehicle. The driver of the Tahoe was unable to avoid hitting the bicycle, the report said. The girl was transported to Indian Health Services at Fort Belknap and pronounced dead there. Neither speed nor alcohol was a factor in the crash, the report said. On Saturday, at 12:30 p.m. the 2007 Chevrolet Impala driven by Myers was stopped on Highway 2 near Beaver Creek Golf Course facing east, waiting to make a left turn. The 1979 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Being driven by Ezra Wagner, attempted to stop but ran into the back of the Impala, the Highway Patrol report said. The Monte Carlo then left the roadway onto the south shoulder, then corrected back onto the highway and struck the Impala on the driver’s side near the right front door, the report said. No citations had been issued as of this morning, and information as to whether the occupants of the vehicles were wearing seat belts was not available.
