With just two Class A state championships this season, Havre High School proved to be consistent all season long by finishing fifth in the running of the 2007-2008 Great Falls Tribune All-Sports Trophy. Havre scored 74.5 points this season, and third-place finishes in boys and girls tennis helped the Blue Ponies secure a top-five finish. Havre's only team state titles this season came by way of wrestling and swimming in the winter. The Blue Ponies captured their second straight Class A championship under head coach Scott Filius back in February in Billings, while the HHS girls captured a record-setting state championship in swimming in Hardin on the same day. However, as strong as HHS teams were this past year, the couldn't quite keep pace with Whitefish, who won the Class A portion of the race yet again. Whitefish scored 109 points this season, the most of any Class A school, and overall, the Bulldogs finished third. Whitefish was in first place after the fall sports season, and state championships in boys tennis and boys track and field helped the Bulldogs stay ahead of the rest of Class A. Billings West captured the this year's All-Sports Trophy with 146 points while Bozeman was second with 113 points. Bozeman had won the three previous years. Also for the fourth year in a row, Big Sandy was the highest-finishing Class C school, only this time the Pioneers finished in the Top 10. On the heels of a third straight Class C state championship in track and field, Big Sandy scored 50 points to finish in 10th place overall. North Star High School also finished in the middle of the pack with 22.5 points. Glasgow was the top Class B school with 67 points and the Scotties came in sixth place overall, just behind HHS. Glasgow got a second straight Class B-C state championship in wrestling back in February. There were 94 schools that scored points in the trophy race this school year, three less than last year.
