MATTHEW JACK SIEMENS obituary HARLEM

Matthew Jack Siemens 40, a Harlem High School teacher, passed away on May 30, 2008, at Northern Montana Hospital in Havre due to congestive heart failure.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at 11 a. m. in the Harlem High School Gymnasium with burial following in the Harlem Cemetery. Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook. Matthew was born on December 6, 1967, in Missoula. He lived in Harlem his entire life except for the time spent attending college. He went to elementary school in Harlem and high school in Harlem, graduating in 1986. During his school years Matt did some cross country running, played little league baseball and was on the Harlem swim team for a number of years. After graduation he attended college at Montana State University in Bozeman, graduating in 1991 with a degree in history and political science. In December of 1991 he began teaching in Harlem and was there until his death. During his years of college he was a swim team coach for Harlem. The most important thing in Matt's life was his love of teaching and his love for his students. Each one of them was important to him and he worked to give them a chance at success. He will be missed by all who knew him. Matt is survived by his parents, Jack and Ethel (Elvrum) Siemens; one brother, Jeremy (Julie) Siemens; and a nephew Jackson Nicholas Siemens, all of Havre.
