Wesley V. Jones Jr., age 85, of Keller, Texas, died on Saturday, June 7, 2008, following a brief illness.
Born in Havre in 1922 he was predeceased by his parents, Wesley Virgil Jones Sr. And Laura Hoff Jones, both of Havre, and son, Quentin Ross Jones. Mr. Jones graduated Havre High School in 1940 as did his wife of 66 years, Patricia Eleanor Hunter Jones. They were married in 1941 in Las Vegas, Nev. Mr. Jones had a lifelong passion for aviation which began in WWII in a B-29, followed with the Civil Aeronatics Administration in Southern California., the Federal Aviation Administration with San Franciso Airport Air Traffic Control, and finishing his career in Washington, D.C., in Research and Development, International Air Space. He retired to Keller, Texas, in 1977. At the age of 80 he became a member of the Union of Flying Octogenarians and continued to fly his private plane until shortly before his death. Survivors include his wife, Patricia, Sugar Land, Texas; brother, Richard Edward Jones, Sacramento, Calif.; daughter, Cheryl Jones Bennett and her husband, Robert, Sugar Land, Texas; son, Wesley Thomas Jones and his wife, Elise, N. Richland Hills, Texas; six grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.
