TOM KENNETH SHUPERT obituary

Tom Kenneth Shupert, 62 went peacefully on Aug. 27, 2008, after a short battle with cancer.

The memorial service will be held this Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the Trego Community Hall. Arrangements are with the Austin Funeral Home in Whitefish. Tom was born in Whitefish June 10, 1946, to Glen and Ruby (Lytle) Shupert. Tom grew up in Whitefish and served in the U. S. Army from 1964 to 1968 during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged and earned a Purple Heart for Bravery. In 1965 Tom married Toni Boucher. In that marriage Tom and Toni had three daughters. They later divorced. Tom married Karen Sue Baucom in 1975 and together they had one daughter. They later divorced but remained special friends until the end. Tom was a true Montana man. He loved the peacefulness and solitude of the mountains. His favorite past times were fishing, hunting and camping. He especially loved the annual huckleberry trip with his siblings. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jerry and Mike; and nephew, Christopher. Survivors include daughters, Kim Austin of Havre, Kathy (Mike) Peterson of Havre, Karen (Clint) Wellcome of Kalispell and Carrie (Rex) Westwood of Kalispell; brothers, Richard of CleElum, Wash., and Dan of Kalispell; and sister, Sue Porter of Kalispell; six grandsons; one granddaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Tom is very loved and will be missed dearly by all.
