The Northern C was once again the dominant team at last weekend's Class C boy's state basketball tournament in Butte. With Winifred, Rocky Boy and Big Sandy collecting all three state trophies, it's no surprise that those three teams also dominated the Class C All- Tournament Team released on Monday afternoon. Winifred senior Brian Foran, who scored 29 points and grabbed 20 rebounds in the Red Raider's win over Rocky Boy on Saturday night, was the unanimous choice for the tournament's MVP. In three games in Butte, Foran scored 76 points 39 rebounds and four blocked shots. Meanwhile, Big Sandy sophomore's Blake Brumwell and Corbin Pearson were named to the first team for the second straight year. Pearson averaged over 30 points and 12 rebounds in five games for Big Sandy, while Brumwell helped the Pioneers to a third-place finish by averaging 18 points and 12 rebounds per game at the state tournament. Rocky Boy also had a first-team selection in junior guard Mike Sangrey Jr., who was consistent throughout Rocky Boy's run through the championship game. Sangrey Jr. Poured in 18 points and dished out six assists in each of Rocky Boy's three tournament games. Twin Bridge's star Clay Pierson rounded out the first team. Rocky Boy sophomore Erik Schildt was named to the Class C Second Team, while the Stars' Jarod Parker and Rodney Turn Toes earned honorable mention honors this past weekend. Shelby senior Kevin Steiner earned the Class B tournament's MVP after helping the Coyotes to the Class B state title in Belgrade on Saturday night, while Browning's DJ Fish was named the Class A tournament MVP after he scored 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds in Browning's win over Butte Central at the Class A state tournament in Billings on Saturday night.
